The Increasing Role of Character Animation in Games
Summary: This article reflects how video games have had increasing roles of characters and storylines incorporated into the video game. The author also talks about how the characters and the story offers unique challenges to the video game designer. In the article, I feel that the author really gets his points across to the viewers, with using testimonials from several video game designers and companies.
Strengths/Weaknesses: The strengths of this piece of work are that it has a strong focal point, and sticks with this focal point throughout the entirety of the article. It a valid amount of evidence to support the claim given, through many testimonials. Although, some weaknesses of this was that there were no transitions between the sub-claims. The author just kind of jumped into the next paragraph, not really giving any connection to the previous paragraph.
Conclusion: The author concludes with how character animators are more in demand than ever with technology being so depended on. In conclusion for me, this was a very interesting article to read about, and to learn more about the other side of animation. This gave some very good information, and good testimonies to support the claim the author has made.
